Job summary

PathGroup is seeking an AP/CP Board-C certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist to join a collegial group based in Fayetteville, NC. This full-time role offers a strong general surgical pathology focus in a high-volume setting with on-site coverage for an eight-hospital system.

The position emphasizes teamwork, quality, and efficiency, with subspecialty interest in GI, cytopathology, or breast pathology encouraged. Fellowship preferred but not required, and ROSE support is available for some FNAs.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited institution.
• AP/CP Board Certification or Eligibility (required).
• Eligible for or hold a North Carolina medical license.
• Strong general surgical and cytopathology diagnostic skills.
• CP certification required for medical directorship duties.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Experience in hospital-based pathology preferred; recent graduates with strong training are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Interpret surgical pathology and cytopathology cases across a broad range of organ systems.
• Participate in frozen sections, quality assurance, and laboratory medical directorship duties.
• Assist with clinical pathology and regulatory requirements (CAP/CLIA).
• Maintain strong communication and working relationships with clinicians and hospital leadership.
