Job summary

Griffin Hospital is seeking a per-diem or part-time physician assistant to support surgical services. The role covers inpatient surgical service across multiple specialties, with 12 or 24 hour shifts and 24/7 patient monitoring.

You will provide first assist in the operating room and perform chest tube and central line placements as well as wound-vac applications under supervision. Emergency room surgical consults may be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold current NCCPA certification.
• Active CT medical license is required.
• Registration for CT Controlled Substance and DEA is required.

Responsibilities

• Cover the inpatient surgical service including general surgical patients as well as orthopedic, neurosurgery, bariatric, plastic surgery, urology, thoracic & colorectal services.
• Monitor and manage patients admitted to surgical services 24/7 on a rotating schedule with 12 or 24 hour shifts.
• Provide first assist in the operating room for a wide range of surgical procedures.
• Independently perform chest tube and central line placements as well as wound-vac applications under physician direction.
• Provide surgical consults in the emergency room as needed.
