Job summary

CHRISTUS SPOHN is seeking a Physician Assistant, First Assistant to provide medical and surgical services at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital in Alice, TX. You will collect data, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and order studies while delivering direct patient care and prescribing therapies as needed.

The role requires Texas PA licensure, a Master's degree, Surgical First Assistant certification, and CPR/BLS.

Qualifications

Current Texas State PA license.
Master's Degree required.
Surgical First Assist certification
Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR), American Heart Association.
Experience in the specialty area preferred.
Experience in clinical and management areas.
Demonstrated problem-solving and marketing of services.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong team-oriented approach and interdepartmental collaboration.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with health care providers and work within APC scope of practice.
Practice within advanced specialty and role.
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in hospital, clinic, or outpatient settings.
Prescribe medications and therapies as allowed.
Perform advanced procedures per credentialing.
Educate patients and families on preventive care and treatments.
Work with medical staff in an independent and collaborative manner.
Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and reports.
