Job summary

Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, TX, seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for Surgical Ortho Trauma to lead nursing care during shifts, coordinate patient flow, and mentor staff. You will partner with the management team to improve outcomes and ensure policies support an unparalleled patient experience.

You will champion patient-centered care, drive service excellence, and support staff development while aligning with hospital goals within a renowned health system.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 1 year of employment start date
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date (RN)
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or RN Diploma within 1 year of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit, with the management team.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and managers to foster teamwork and improved outcomes.
• Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery as needed.
• Operationalize nursing strategies to improve engagement (e.g., rounds, hourly rounds).
• Provide recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
• Recommend and implement actions including training, conflict resolution, policy compliance, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Assist with staff scheduling and labor management per patient care needs.
• Support inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
