Job summary

Saint Peters Healthcare System is seeking an Operating Room Technician to scrub in during general surgeries and prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments and supplies. The role supports the care team by maintaining sterile and unsterile equipment and assisting with patient care under RN supervision.

Ideal candidates graduate from a surgical tech program or equivalent, are willing to work on call, and hold BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technical Program or equivalent training.
• Willingness to work on call under RN direction.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Scrub Assistant during general surgeries.
• Set up Operating Rooms with sterile instruments and supplies.
• Assist with care, preparation, and maintenance of sterile and unsterile equipment, instruments and supplies.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and communicate patient status to the Registered Nurse.
