Job summary

Jackson Memorial Hospital, part of Jackson Health System, is seeking a PRN Operating Room Technician 2 to support complex surgical procedures. Responsibilities include room setup, equipment maintenance, and instrument handling under the supervision of skilled surgical staff.

The candidate should have a High School diploma, 3–5 years of related OR experience, and CPR/BLS certification. The role requires strong organization, communication, and the ability to work calmly in high-pressure situations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 3–5 years of related OR experience preferred.
• Operating Room Technician certification preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required or maintained on hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for procedures and ensure readiness of equipment.
• Assist in collection of instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout all phases of work.
• Assist surgeon and scrub nurse; provide instruments, sutures and sponges as needed.
• Assist in patient transfer to recovery and prepare room for next procedure.
