Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Healthcare is seeking an Operating Room Technician to assist surgical teams and ensure sterile, high-quality perioperative care.

The role reports to the Director of Perioperative Services and supports the core values and mission of the hospital. Responsibilities include maintaining sterility, assembling supplies, communicating with the nursing team, and ensuring equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• BLS certification required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer service in communications.
• Establishes and maintains positive relationships with peers, management, and physicians.
• Communicates information to Circulating Nurse/OR Supervisor promptly.
• Prioritizes responsibilities and multitasks effectively.
• Works under pressure in busy or stressful situations.
• Follows hospital policies and procedures.
• Assembles supplies/equipment for procedures.
• Maintains sterility of the surgical field/environment.
• Decontaminates, cleans, and sterilizes instruments as needed.
• Collaborates with circulating nurse to ensure accurate counts.
• Verifies equipment functions prior to procedures.
• Delivers patient/family centered care in line with Caring, Competence, Communication and Commitment.
