Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech II in the Jersey City Medical Center operating room. The position supports perioperative care, scrubbing across multiple surgical service lines, and collaboration with perioperative nursing staff.

The role requires a Surgical Technician training, a high school diploma, and 2–3 years of experience. Evening shift, full-time hours, and competitive benefits are provided in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Experience scrubbing on service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
• Must be able to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and administering individualized age-specific care for patients.
• Maintain a safe environment to support patient outcomes in the surgical suite and perioperative division.
• Collaborate with the perioperative RN to ensure optimal patient care.
• Perform scrub duties and assist with surgical procedures as directed.
