Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking an OR support role in the Surgery Department. The position involves providing service support for the Operating Room area, patient transport, and preparation and cleaning tasks.

You will assist with patient positioning and safety, and respond to emergencies following established procedures. We require a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of related experience, and a current BLS-A certification or plan to obtain it within one month of start date.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year experience in surgical services, sterile processing, patient care environment or related departments with similar skill set required.
• Medical Assistant and/or Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• Current BLS-A Certification required or become BLS-A certified within one month of job start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist OR staff in services, patient transport, preparation and cleaning of the operating room.
• Assist with positioning and maintenance of patient safety during procedures.
• Support building services, patient transport and patient preparation as needed.
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures and report to supervisor.
