Job summary

Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI is seeking a Peri-Operative Assistant for full-time day shift (5a-1:30p). Under supervision, you support the OR team with patient transport, room setup and cleaning, sterilization of equipment, and preparation of patients for surgery.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year in surgical services or related fields; Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant cert preferred. Current BLS-A certification or within one month.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in surgical services, sterile processing, patient care environment or related departments.
• Medical Assistant and/or Nursing Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist OR staff with patient transport, positioning and safety.
• Prepare and clean operating room; support cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization of equipment.
• Provide intra-operative support and respond to emergent situations per procedures.
