Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an OR Assistant to support the Surgical Team in Jamaica Plain, MA. This role participates in pre-, intra-, and post-operative activities, ensuring efficient care and smooth room turnover under supervision of the Lead and Nursing Director.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and emphasizes safety, patient transfer skills, and attention to isolation protocols. Hospital experience is preferred, with a strong focus on teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand English for communication and carrying out written assignments.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safety standards in OR suites; awareness of isolation protocols.
• Must have proper body mechanics when assisting in patient transfer and lifting of heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Assists the surgical team pre-, intra-, and post-operatively to promote efficient care.
• Prepares OR suites with required equipment for daily schedule.
• Maintains clean and organized scrub sinks, carts and storage areas.
• Transports patients and specimens safely, and cleans stretchers between transfers.
• Operates with a focus on room turnover and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
• Participates in in-services and demonstrates required competencies for Perioperative Services.
