Job summary

OrthoNebraska is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to support the nursing staff in Surgical Services. The ORA participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team, helping with operating room setup, patient care during procedures, and room turnover to maximize scheduling efficiency.

Responsibilities include assisting with aseptic technique, positioning patients, transporting supplies and specimens, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of employment.
• Experience: 1+ year of clinical hospital experience; OR setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operating room setup and patient positioning.
• Transports supplies, specimens, and lab work as directed.
• Performs between-case clean-up and maintains sterile field.
• Maintains a safe, clean operating environment and supports teamwork.
