The OR Assistant performs duties in support of nursing care and contributes to efficient care and room turnover under the supervision of the Lead and Nursing Director. The role emphasizes patient and family centered care within Mass General Brigham and requires alertness to the OR schedule, safe transfer of patients, and diligent room

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, and understand English for purpose of communication and carrying out written assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assists the surgical team pre-, intra-, and post-operatively to promote efficient care.
• Prepares OR suites with required equipment for the daily schedule.
• Transports patients and specimens to the appropriate lab or destination.
• Maintains cleanliness of OR and supporting areas per policy and procedures.
• Adheres to safety standards and CARE practices.
