Job summary

Duke Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Duke Surgical Oncology Division of Endocrine Surgery. The role includes operating room first assisting, perioperative planning, and coordinating patient care between clinic and OR.

Responsibilities include performing examinations, ordering labs, documenting in the EMR, and collaborating with attending physicians to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• NP must have a Master's degree in Nursing and be licensed as NP in NC.
• PA role requires Bachelor's and Master's; Master's strongly preferred; licensure in NC is required/expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide triage, physical exams, and direct patient care in collaboration with Surgical Oncology.
• Order and schedule labs and consultations; coordinate care and document in EMR.
• First assist in the operating room and participate in perioperative decision-making.
• Communicate patient information to supervising physicians and care teams; ensure timely documentation.
