HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, FL seeks a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join a thriving surgical oncology practice. The role blends outpatient and inpatient care with opportunities to participate in OR cases and multidisciplinary tumor boards.

The qualified candidate will assess patients, develop treatment plans with the surgical oncologist, educate patients, and coordinate care across specialties while maintaining a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Background or experience in oncology, surgical oncology, or critical care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Recent graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsabilités

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments including history, exam, and diagnostics.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with the surgical oncologist.
• Provide patient education and support regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and post-treatment care.
• Perform minor surgical procedures and wound care management.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Coordinate care with oncologists, radiologists, and primary care providers.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case discussions.
• Inpatient rounding either independently or with the physician; potential OR assistance.
