Job summary

Florida Oncology and Hematology seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support physicians in inpatient and outpatient oncology care. The role involves rounds, admissions/discharges, on-call duties, and comprehensive assessments.

Qualified candidates hold an APRN/PA license, Master’s degree, prescriptive privileges, board certification, and at least five years of oncology experience. This is a full-time, on-site position with standard hours.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant program.
• Master's degree required.
• APRN or PA license in appropriate state; prescriptive privileges or eligible.
• Maintain Board Certification and Current BLS.
• Minimum 5 years experience as APRN or PA, Oncology required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hospital rounds and inpatient support.
• Assess physical and mental condition; perform histories and exams.
• Order and interpret labs; prescribe medications as appropriate.
• Refer to sources of care when indicated; document treatment plans.
• Counsel patients and maintain records; ensure timely charges.
• Communicate effectively with admitting and referring teams; respond promptly.
