Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology and two years of graduate study in an AMA approved Physician's Assistant program.
• Current registration as Physician's Assistant in the State of Rhode Island.
• An extremely high level of analytical ability to apply post-surgical training to the treatment of patients.
• Good interpersonal skills to deal effectively with patients and nursing personnel.
• Demonstrates knowledge of caring for patients across the life span with aging, development, and cultural considerations.

Responsibilities

• Under physician supervision, perform medical procedures and manage pre, intra, and post-operative patient care.
• Assist in surgical procedures and in pre/post-operative management.
• Wound care and discharge planning; dictating discharge summaries.
• Write admission, pre-operative and post-operative orders.
• Participate in call coverage as First Assist for OR and OB for C-sections.
• Present pertinent patient data at physician conferences and consultations.
