Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the surgical service at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. You will provide outpatient continuity of care, perform histories/physicals, order tests, prescribe medications, and assist with procedures as part of the surgical team.

Requires Rhode Island NP/PA licensure, a Master’s degree, and DEA licensure, with strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in nursing or related field.
• Current Rhode Island licensure as CRNP or PA.
• Current DEA licensure.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct history and physical examinations for surgical patients.
• Prescribe medications and order/interpret labs as appropriate.
• Develop and monitor patient treatment plans and refer to specialists as needed.
• Perform minor procedures and assist with surgery per institutional protocols.
• Educate nurses and students; participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
