Job summary

South Texas Health System Edinburg is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead nursing care for patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgery. The RN assesses, plans, guides, and evaluates care in line with policy and philosophy.

This role provides professional leadership, requires interaction with hospital staff, and may include weekends or on-call. Commitment to service excellence and compliance with the organization’s standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas or a compact state; new grads may provide RN program documentation.
• BSN preferred.
• Must have and maintain BLS certification.
• Must hold current ARC/AHA healthcare provider certifications as required by unit (CPR, ACLS, PALS/ENPC).

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent nursing care following facility policies and standards.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Oversee and guide nursing staff under your supervision.
• Interact with hospital staff and ancillary departments regarding patient care concerns and resolutions.
• May work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and on-call as needed.
• Demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times.

Education

Registered Nurse license in Texas or compact state

BSN preferred

Associate/Baccalaureate/Diploma in Nursing

BLS certification

ARC/AHA certifications as required
