Surgical Affiliates Management Group (SAMGI) is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support Vascular Surgery and Trauma/ACS at a Level II Trauma Center in Bakersfield, California.

The role offers a 15-day-per-month schedule with 10-hour shifts, a collaborative team, and dedicated administrative support to allow focus on patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current PA-C or NP certification.
• Current or eligible California PA or NP license.
• 1–2 years of surgical experience preferred.
• Experience in vascular surgery, trauma, acute care surgery, general surgery, or critical care preferred.
• OR and inpatient surgical experience preferred.
• Comfortable working across multiple surgical services in a high-acuity environment.
• Eligible for hospital credentialing and clinical privileges.

Responsabilités

• Support both Vascular Surgery and Trauma/Acute Care Surgery teams.
• Perform inpatient consultations and rounds; participate in perioperative care.
• Coordinate and participate in outpatient clinics and hospital rounds.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.

The Opportunity

Surgical Affiliates Management Group (SAMGI) is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support both Vascular Surgery and Trauma/Acute Care Surgery at a Level II Trauma Center in Bakersfield, California.

This is a unique dual-service opportunity offering broad surgical experience across two high-acuity programs. The position features a predictable schedule of 15 days per month with 10-hour shifts, a collaborative surgical team, and dedicated administrative support so you can focus on patient care.

Position Highlights

• Full-time PA or NP position
• Support both Vascular Surgery and Trauma/Acute Care Surgery
• 15 days per month

• Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• $150,000 annual salary

Vascular Surgery

• Support open and endovascular procedures
• Perform inpatient consultations and rounds
• Participate in outpatient vascular clinic
• Assist in the management of peripheral arterial disease (PAD), dialysis access, carotid disease, varicose veins, and other vascular conditions
• Provide perioperative and postoperative patient care

Trauma / Acute Care Surgery

• Evaluate and manage trauma and acute surgical patients
• Participate in inpatient rounds and surgical consultations
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care
• Perform bedside procedures within scope of practice
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing, and multidisciplinary clinical teams
