Job summary

The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide continuity of care for surgical patients in the outpatient setting. You will be an integral part of the surgical service and serve as an educator and liaison to other health care providers.

Responsibilities include history and physical exams, ordering and interpreting labs, prescribing medications, developing treatment plans, and assisting with procedures, while maintaining HIPAA compliance

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• Current Rhode Island licensure as CRNP or PA.
• Current DEA licensure.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Acts as integral member of the surgical service across inpatient to outpatient settings.
• Performs history and physical exams, orders and interprets labs, prescribes medications, and develops treatment plans.
• Collaborates with unit educators and serves as a preceptor for medical students and NP/PA students.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and participates in ongoing professional development.
