Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Surgical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Surgery Department at our Wilmington and Newark campuses. This full-time day position follows a Monday–Friday schedule with weekend coverage roughly every four to five weeks.

Call is required about every ten days, plus one holiday and one holiday weekend per year. The selected candidate will participate in operative care, preop/postop care, and postoperative order writing, while supporting the surgical

Qualifications

• Graduate of a NP or PA accredited program.
• Acute Care NP required with an RNFA certification.
• Must be licensed or eligible to practice in Delaware.
• Two years’ OR and inpatient management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to surgical patients as part of the surgical service team, including operative assistance.
• Assist with positioning, draping, first/second assisting, and postoperative order writing.
• Deliver preoperative and postoperative care, including wound care, drains, and discharges.
