Job summary

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner First Assist to provide advanced perioperative care and assist physicians in surgical procedures. This role operates in both inpatient and outpatient settings, delivering direct patient care under physician supervision and contributing to treatment planning and patient education.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing and graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice or nurse practitioner clinical experience.
• One year of surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced perioperative care and assists physicians in surgical procedures.
• Works in inpatient and outpatient settings under physician supervision.
• Participates in rounds, care planning, and patient education across perioperative services.
• Ensures patient safety and adherence to nursing practice act and hospital policies.
