Job summary

Wenatchee Valley Humane Society, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team in Washington. You will oversee pre-, peri-, and post-operative care for high-volume surgical patients, monitor anesthesia, and assist veterinarians during procedures in a fast-paced setting.

You will document controlled substances, educate clients, and help train assistants and volunteers while maintaining high standards of safety and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Active LVT license in Washington State.
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia, patient monitoring, and animal handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and compassionate care.
• Preferred: Spanish language skills and/or shelter/clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pre-, peri-, and postoperative care for high-volume surgical patients.
• Monitor anesthesia, track vital signs, and respond to changes or emergencies.
• Assist veterinarians during surgery and perform technical tasks.
• Handle and document controlled substances safely and compliantly.
• Communicate discharge instructions and education to clients.
• Train veterinary assistants and volunteers on care protocols.
