Job summary

Pasado’s Safe Haven seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Thurston County clinic. The LVT will manage surgical flow, prepare patients, assist veterinarians, monitor anesthesia, and help with post-operative care and discharge in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold a WA LVT license, have 2+ years of veterinary experience, and demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and meticulous recordkeeping while upholding compassionate care standards.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Veterinary Technician license.
• Minimum two years of veterinary clinical experience.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Commitment to animal welfare and humane care practices.
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
• Proficiency in anesthetic monitoring equipment.
• Ability to calculate anesthetic and medication dosages accurately.
• Knowledge of aseptic surgical technique.
• Working knowledge of controlled substance regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow and surgical scheduling to maximize efficiency and safety.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist veterinarians during procedures.
• Administer and monitor anesthesia and recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment logs.
• Communicate patient status and changes to the veterinary team.
• Support staff and trainees with guidance and supervision.
