Job summary

ReFocus Eye Health is seeking a meticulous Sterile Processing Technician to join our surgical team. You will decontaminate, clean, and sterilize instruments to support our ophthalmology procedures and maintain a fully prepared surgical suite each day.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in SPD, knowledge of MIFU, and an active BLS certificate. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Certification in Sterile Processing is a bonus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in a sterile processing department
• Knowledge of the sterilization process, aseptic technique, and instrument care
• Ability to follow manufacturer’s instructions for use (MIFU)
• Basic Life Support certification
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization procedures according to MIFU.
• Assist in preparing the surgical center for daily schedules and between cases.
• Maintain adequate inventory of SPD supplies and report shortages.
• Ensure a sterile environment throughout all procedures.
• Open sterile packs, instruments, and supplies, and assist in setting up surgical cases.
• Report and troubleshoot issues with instruments, sterilizers, and other equipment; implement MIFUs for all instruments and equipment.
• Verify surgeon's preference cards are current and accessible.
• Maintain infection control protocols.
• Participate in identifying quality improvement and infection control issues.
