Job summary

UPMC is seeking a patient care technician to join our team in Pittsburgh. You will assist with patient procedures, activities of daily living, and various nursing assistant tasks under RN direction. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and timely communication of patient needs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class.
Successful completion of eRecord training.
EMT or Paramedic certification or enrollment preferred.
Experience with patient care and vital signs is expected.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
Assist with physical, respiratory and cardiopulmonary therapies.
Provide feedback to RN and report changes in patient status.
Perform core nursing assistant tasks including vital signs, glucose checks, I&O, and specimen collection.
Communicate effectively with health care team and support safety in the workplace.
