Job summary

Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH, seeks an experienced respiratory therapist to deliver high‑level care across cardiopulmonary assessments, ventilator management, and therapies. You will work with physicians, nurses, and the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safe, effective treatment plans.

You will lead airway management, administer gases and medications, and participate in education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC.
• Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) License from Ohio Medical Board.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP or NPS certifications when appropriate for site.
• Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiopulmonary assessment to evaluate respiratory status.
• Perform physical exams to assess breath sounds and airway patency.
• Review radiologic tests, blood gases, and pulmonary function results.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medical gases, aerosolized meds, and lung re‑inflation techniques.
• Follow protocols for therapeutic procedures and safety.
• Perform blood gas sampling and arterial access as directed.
• Manage invasive and non‑invasive ventilators and airways.
• Assist with bronchoscopy procedures and emergencies.
• Educate patients and families about illness and care plan.
