Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff and unit operations. The role includes assisting with patient care, hygiene, mobility, vitals, and documentation, while ensuring a safe, clean environment and effective communication with the RN and other departments.

The incumbent will participate in all aspects of patient care delivery, including data collection, rounds, and care coordination, while adhering to hospital policies and maintaining patient

Qualifications

• Req High School or equivalent
• Pref 1 year Experience in a health care setting
• Req Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Req Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH)
• Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
• Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls within 10 minutes.
• Anticipates patients' needs and reduces patient calls.
• Maintains clean, organized patient rooms and supports RN with care.
• Documents care provided, including vital signs, intake/output, and meals.
• Assists with meals, ambulation, mobility, and transfers.
• Ensures safety and proper operation of patient-care equipment.
