MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist – Surgical First Assist (CSTFA) to join the CVOR team. The CSTFA provides technical assistance to physicians and RNs during procedures, supports aseptic technique, and helps optimize patient outcomes under surgeon direction.

The role requires CST certification, Surgical First Assistant certification, BLS, and acute care clinical experience; prior CST experience as a surgical assistant is preferred and essential for a

Qualifications

• Graduate from high school or equivalent program.
• Current CST certification by an accredited agency.
• Certification as Surgical First Assistant through a nationally accredited agency.
• Current CSTFA certificate.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Current acute care clinical care experience.
• Experience in Surgery as a CST and as Surgical First Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to physician and nurse in surgical procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of routine and specialized surgical techniques.
• Develop and improve skills in assisting the surgeon and organizing work.
• Apply aseptic technique and infection control principles.
• Use all equipment and supplies necessary for surgical procedures.
• Assist in homeostasis by retracting, suctioning, irrigating, and applying pressure.
