Job summary

Qualifications

• One year experience as a Certified Surgical First Assistant.
• Graduate of ARC/STSA accredited Surgical Assist program; NBSTSA certification required.
• Experience and ability to read, write, and speak English; strong communication in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine, obtain and check supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assist in moving and positioning the patient.
• Dons PPE, scrubs, gowns, and gloves per aseptic standards.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, medications and solutions.
• Assist with hemostasis and closure as directed by the surgeon.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon and assistant during procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and observe for breaks in aseptic protocol.
• Assist with terminal cleaning and preparation for the next case.
