Description

Seeking Surgical First Assistant, RNFA or Physician Assistant for Labor and Delivery at UH Ahuja Medical Center. Day (7a-7p) and Night (7p-7a) shifts available with call requirement. Experience preferred.

Surgical Assistant - The Surgical Assistant works under the supervision of the attending physician to provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions to assist the surgeon in carrying out safe operations with optimal patient outcomes. Performs preoperative and postoperative duties during the perioperative period, providing technical 1st and 2nd assistance for surgical procedures.

What you will do - Surgical Assistant

  • Provides intraoperative technical functions in all facets of the first assistant role.
  • Displays knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to ensure safe patient care.
  • Establishes and maintains a safe perioperative environment.
  • Supports the perioperative area or other duties as assigned.

Physician Assistant - Responsible for providing quality patient care, increasing access and satisfaction, following Ohio State Board of Medicine and UH entity-specific Medical Bylaws.

RNFA - Works under the supervision of the attending physician to assess, manage, and evaluate the surgical patient perioperatively. Provides technical 1st and 2nd assistance for surgical procedures.

  • Applies nursing process in all facets of the nurse first assistant role.
  • Displays knowledge of human anatomy and physiology for safe patient care.
  • Maintains a safe perioperative environment.
  • Provides educational opportunities to residents, staff, and students involved in surgery and patient management.
  • Uses perioperative data to support research and quality improvement efforts.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Follows departmental documentation and training requirements.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) according to policies and training.
