Job summary

Physicians Regional Healthcare System in Naples, FL, is seeking a Surgical Technician First Assist PRN to support surgeons during procedures and maintain a sterile field with instruments and supplies.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of acute care experience, CST/CSFA/CSA credentials, BCLS required, ACLS preferred. The role offers a fast-paced environment, teamwork, and a focus on patient safety and surgical excellence.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or First Assist in an acute care setting.
• Certification requirements: CST/CSFA/CSA as applicable, BCLS required, ACLS preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment and maintain sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• Scrub role during procedures; prepare sterile supplies and instruments.
• Provide exposure through retractors, suctioning, and sponging as directed.
• Handle tissues, clamp vessels, coagulate bleeding, place drains per surgeon.
• Assist with wound closure and dressing per surgeon instructions.
• Ensure sterility, conduct counting, follow infection control protocols.
• Prepare instruments for decontamination and transport for sterilization.
• Support post-procedure turnover and maintain attendance and policy compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
