Job summary

Physicians Regional Healthcare System in Naples, FL is seeking a Surgical Technician First Assist to join a high-performing surgical services team. You will support surgeons during procedures, maintain the sterile field, and provide instruments and supplies to the team.

This role requires 1-3 years of acute-care experience as a Surgical Technician or First Assistant, CST/CSFA/CSA certification, and BCLS. ACLS is preferred; join a facility offering comprehensive benefits and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in surgical techniques and aseptic principles.
• Experience maintaining a sterile field and organizing sterile supplies.
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and assist promptly during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person during procedures, providing instruments and maintaining sterile field.
• Performs first assistant duties including exposure with instruments, retractors, suction, and sponging.
• Handles tissues, clamps vessels, coagulates bleeding, and places drains as directed.
• Assists with wound closure and dressing per surgeon instructions.
• Ensures sterility and safety, follows infection control protocols and counts with RN circulator.
• Prepares instruments for decontamination and transports to decontamination area.
• Assists in post-procedure turnover and prepares areas for next surgeries.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
