Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a Surgical First Assist for the Main OR on a PRN basis. You will function as the first assistant during operative procedures, preparing sterile instruments and maintaining the sterile field to support the surgical team.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program and completion of the First Assistant program or competency verification by a Piedmont surgeon; CST certification and BCLS are required along with CSA/CSFA or

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a Piedmont surgeon.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures.
• Assists OR staff in the assigned room/case and prepares sterile instruments and equipment.
• Maintains the sterile field and supports the surgical team during procedures.
