Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital in Monroe, GA is seeking a Surgical Tech First Assistant in the Operating Room on a PRN basis. The role supports a high-volume OR performing orthopedics, general surgery, and more, under the supervision of surgeons.

You will function as first assistant, prepare sterile instruments, maintain sterile field, and assist in emergent cases. Requirements include CST certification, BCLS, 3 years perioperative experience, and completion of First Assistant credentialing.

Qualifications

• 3 years perioperative services experience required.
• Graduate of accredited surgical technologist program.
• Completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon during the orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Functions as first assistant during operative and invasive procedures.
• Prepare and provide sterile instruments, supplies and equipment in the role of scrub tech.
• Maintains the sterile field and assists the surgical team as needed.
