Job summary

Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA is seeking a Surgical First Assistant to support complex operative care. Under surgeon supervision, you will assist with exposure, hemostasis, closure and intraoperative tasks, maintaining patient safety and sterile technique.

Qualifications include CSFA/CSA/SA-C certification, BCLS within 30 days of start, and at least 2 years as a Surgical Scrub Tech. The role offers comprehensive benefits and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• (CSFA) Certified Surgical First Assistant, or (CSA) Certified Surgical Assistant, or (SA-C) Surgical Assistant Certified.
• 2 Years of Experience as a Surgical Scrub Tech Required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates accountability for quality and safety goals.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Follows protocols to optimize patient safety and exposure.
• Assists surgeon with exposure, hemostasis, closure and intraoperative tasks.
• Ensures sterile technique and aseptic practices are observed.
• Sets up and breaks down OR suites and equipment.
• Maintains equipment functionality and reports issues promptly.
• Adheres to hospital policies and infection control requirements.
