Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH seeks a Surgical Technologist First Assist to support the surgeon and RN in the operating room. The role involves setting up the surgical field, assisting with exposure, tissue handling, hemostasis, and wound closure under direct supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and CFA/CAAHEP pathway; certification as CSA, SA-C, CSFA, or NBSTSA may be preferred. Mount Carmel offers robust benefits and relocation support where applicable.

Formación

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a Certified First Assistant (CFA) program through ARC-ST or CAAHEP preferred.
• One of NCCSA CSA, ABSA SA-C, NBSTSA CSFA certifications required or preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs within Mount Carmel Health System scope as First Assistant under surgeon.
• Operates under RN direction and maintains the surgical field.
• Assists in surgical case preparation (equipment, supplies, instruments).
• Assists in exposing the surgical field and handling tissue and instruments.
• Anticipates hemostasis and assists with closures of incisions as directed by surgeon.
• Selects and applies appropriate wound dressings.
• Assists in securing drainage systems to tissue.
• Maintains patient positioning under RN supervision.
• Performs observable technical behaviors as delegated by surgeon.

Educación

High school graduate or equivalent

ARC-ST CFA or CAAHEP preferred
