Job summary

Methodist Celina Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant to support surgical teams in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare instruments, maintain sterile technique, assist with patient positioning, and ensure accurate counting and safety protocols throughout procedures.

The role requires prior ARC/STSA-accredited program completion and NBSTSA certification, with the ability to collaborate with surgeons and staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a Certified Surgical First Assistant.
• Surgical Assist graduate from a program accredited by ARC/STSA; NBSTSA certification.
• Certification conferred by NBSTSA.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures and maintain aseptic technique.
• Assist in moving and positioning the patient and draping.
• Assist in instrument handling and passing during procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and mentor staff on aseptic technique.
• Prepare room and instruments for each case and for terminal cleaning.
• Follow safety and infection-control protocols and time-out procedures.
