Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist to serve as a first assistant in operative and invasive procedures. The role supports the surgical team by preparing sterile instruments and maintaining the sterile field as needed during cases.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program, 3 years perioperative experience, CST and BCLS, and certification as CSA/CSFA/SA-C or equivalent upon hire. This position is based in Georgia.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon during the orientation period.
• 3 years perioperative services experience required.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist required and BCLS - Basic Life Support required and CSA/CSFA/SA-C or equivalent certification required; one of CSA/CSFA/SA-C upon hire or equivalent certification upon hire

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first assistant during operative and invasive procedures while adhering to credentials and competencies.
• Assist OR staff in the assigned room/case and prepare the required sterile instruments and equipment.
• Maintain the sterile field and anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team.

Responsibilities

Functions as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures in accordance with credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification. Assists OR staff in the assigned room/case. At time facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies and equipment in the role of scrub tech. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited a surgical technologist program. Required and
• completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon during the orientation period. Required

Work Experience

• 3 years perioperative services experience Required
