Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a certified surgical technologist to serve as a first assistant in operative and invasive procedures. You will support the surgical team in the OR as a scrub tech, maintain the sterile field, and ensure timely instrument and supply preparation.

The role requires an accredited surgical technology education, a First Assistant credential or verification by a Piedmont surgeon, and active CST, BCLS, or equivalent certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program and completion of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a Piedmont surgeon.
• 3 years perioperative services experience required.
• CST, BCLS, and CSA/CSFA or equivalent certification required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures in accordance with credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification.
• Assists OR staff in the assigned room/case and facilitates the procedure by preparing and providing sterile instruments, supplies and equipment as scrub tech.
• Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.
