Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical seeks a skilled First Assistant to support operative and invasive procedures within the surgical team. You will prepare sterile instruments, assist in the room, and maintain the sterile field to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon during the orientation period.
• Minimum 3 years perioperative services experience.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures in accordance with credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification. Assists OR staff in the assigned room/case. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.
