Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical in Macon, GA seeks a skilled Surgical Technologist First Assistant to support the operating room team during procedures. You will prepare sterile instruments, maintain the sterile field, and assist the surgeon in invasive cases in accordance with credentials and competency.

With at least 3 years of perioperative experience and the required CST and BCLS credentials, you will be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Completion of didactic and clinical First Assistant program or competency verified by Piedmont surgeon during orientation.
• 3 years perioperative services experience.
• CST, BCLS, and CSA/CSFA or equivalent certification required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures in accordance with credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification.
• Assists OR staff in the assigned room/case.
• Preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies and equipment in the role of scrub tech.
• Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.

At time facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies and equipment in the role of scrub tech. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited a surgical technologist program. Required and
• completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon during the orientation period. Required

Work Experience

• 3 years perioperative services experience Required
