Job summary

University of California's Center for Advanced Surgical & Interventional Technology (CASIT) in Los Angeles seeks a Surgical Education Technology Manager. You will oversee operations, develop training programs for UCLA and external audiences, and expand accredited education, simulation, and research initiatives.

You will lead grant proposals, manage budgets, and supervise staff while ensuring high-quality, continuously improving simulation-based surgical education programs across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, business operations, or related field.
• 3+ years of management experience.
• Ability to collaborate with technical, administrative, clinical, and academic personnel at all levels.
• Identify opportunities and manage projects to enhance Surgical Education Technology Programs, including AEI and Lab.
• Understand a wide variety of technologies to allocate resources across programs.
• Knowledge of government contracting practices and regulations affecting tech research.
• Able to write technical proposals and reports.
• Understand curriculum development, course design and learner assessment.
• Plan and manage budgets for ongoing operations and grants.
• Work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong computer skills with MS applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Center operations and surgical education programs.
• Develop and implement education and training programs for UCLA and external audiences.
• Expand accreditation education, simulation, certification, and research programs.
• Develop grant proposals and funding initiatives.
• Oversee education budget, purchasing, equipment maintenance, and technical operations.
• Provide instruction and proctoring for surgical technology and minimally invasive skills assessments.
• Supervise administrative and simulation staff; recruit volunteers and temporary personnel.
• Ensure delivery, quality, and continuous improvement of simulation-based education programs.
