Job summary

Alpharetta Periodontics in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Surgical Dental Assistant to support hands-on patient care and ensure operatory readiness. You’ll prepare operatories, assist during procedures, and help maintain sterilization and lab areas.

You’ll review treatment plans with patients, assist with sedation support, take X-rays, and coordinate with the doctor to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting program.
• Two years of Surgical Assisting experience required.
• Prosthodontics experience including bone grafting & implants.
• CPR and First Aid certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operatories for set-up, decontamination, sterilization, cleaning, restocking and maintain lab areas.
• Provide positive customer service by escorting, communicating, and prepping patients for care by the doctor.
• Review history and progress of treatment plans with patients.
• Administer oxygen & IV sedation as needed, take blood pressure.
• Take X-Rays, impressions, pours & prepares study models, coordinate lab cases.
• Record treatment information on patient charts, schedule appointments, and provide follow up instructions.
