Our practice,ORAL SURGERY GROUP, is seeking an enthusiastic and experiencedOral Surgery Dental Assistantto join our team! This is a unique and exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about Oral Surgery and committed to delivering outstanding care.


As anOral Surgery Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our Oral Surgeons with various surgical procedures.


What You'll Do:

The Oral Surgery Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our Oral Surgeons throughout various surgical procedures.


Responsibilities:
Preparing the Treatment Room:
  1. Ensure the treatment room is clean, organized, and equipped with the necessary instruments and supplies.
  2. Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments according to infection control guidelines.
  3. Set up equipment such as suction devices, dental chairs, X-ray machines, and surgical lights.

Assisting with Oral Surgery Procedures:
  1. Prepare patients for Oral Surgery, explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns they may have.
  2. Assist Oral Surgeons during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and providing the necessary instruments and materials.
  3. Maintain a sterile environment during surgery, following strict infection control protocols.
  4. Monitor patients' vital signs and comfort level during surgery, ensuring their well-being at all times.
  5. Handle and dispose of surgical waste and hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.

Patient Support and Education:
  1. Provide post-operative care instructions to patients, including oral hygiene practices, medication administration, and dietary restrictions.
  2. Answer patients’ questions and concerns, offering reassurance and empathy throughout their treatment process.
  3. Educate patients about oral health, prevention methods, and the importance of regular dental visits.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting treatment plans, procedures, and progress.

Administrative Duties:
  1. Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with other dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
  2. Manage patient records, update medical histories, and handle billing and insurance documentation.
  3. Assist with inventory management, ordering dental supplies, and maintaining equipment.
  4. Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Valid X-ray license is required.
  3. Previous experience as a dental assistant, particularly in Oral Surgery, is highly desirable.
  4. Discharge experience is highly preferred.
  5. Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and materials.
  6. Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety measures.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
  9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  10. Proficiency in dental software and computer literacy.
