Job summary

Atlas Healthcare Partners is seeking a medical coder to evaluate medical records and assign diagnostic and procedure codes in accordance with national coding guidelines. This role emphasizes accuracy, timely coding, and collaboration with medical staff to ensure complete documentation.

The candidate should have RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC credentials preferred and 1–2 years of surgery coding experience in hospital or ASC settings, with strong knowledge of ICD/CPT and CMS requirements.

Qualifications

• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC credentials preferred and active.
• 1–2 years experience coding surgery in hospital or ASC setting.
• Proficiency with ICD and CPT coding principles as per AHIMA / AAPC guidance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze medical information from records and assign ICD/CPT codes.
• Provide accurate coding for diagnoses and procedures per guidelines.
• Consult with providers to clarify missing or inconsistent record information.
• Abstract codes and document data into electronic medical records.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, OIG, HCFA and other regulatory standards.
• Generate daily/monthly coding reports as needed.
