Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Care Pavilion at Good Samaritan Hospital. This full-time role provides patient-centered nursing care and collaborates with the care team to improve outcomes. The position requires EHR proficiency, BLS certification, and an RN license; BSN preferred.

Typical hours are 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays. Competitive compensation is based on experience and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where care is provided.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages in governance and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Maintains safety culture and accurate EHR documentation.
• May administer medications per clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication and delegation.
• Pursues professional development and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to ANA ethics and supports unbiased patient care.
• Able to float to other units as needed.
