Job summary

University Hospitals in Ohio is seeking a Surgical Assistant, Physician Assistant, or RNFA to support the operating room as a first/second assistant. The role involves intraoperative functions, patient positioning, exposure, hemostasis, and perioperative care under physician supervision.

The candidate should have completed an accredited Surgical Assistant Program and may have physician-relations experience.

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Surgical Assistant Program or an equivalent program that meets the educational requirements of the designated national certifying body.
Physician relations experience strongly (Preferred)

Consistently provides effective relationship-based care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients.
Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.

Assumes a beginning leadership role and seeks mentoring in the process.
Provides intraoperative technical functions in all facets of the first assistant role.
Displays knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the human body while delivering safe patient care.
Establishes and maintains a safe perioperative environment.
Supports the perioperative area as assigned per entity.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
