Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH is seeking a full-time Surgical Prep Support role. This position offers 36 hours per week with shifts from 6:45am to 7:15pm across 3 days, days to be determined.

• Prepares the physical environment and room, maintains cleanliness per sterile techniques.
• Monitors gown, mask, and supply levels for the department.
• Follows communication channels for effective problem solving.

Job Summary

This position is full time, 36 hours per week and is located at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. The hours are 6:45am - 7:15pm, 3 days per week; days to be determined.

Summary: Responsible for assisting with the physical preparation of the patient and physical environment prior to a surgical procedure being performed. Does this position require Patient Care? No

Essential Functions

• Transports patients to and from assigned room and assists with the preparation and positioning of the patient prior to surgical procedure.
• Assists with preparation of the physical environment prior to surgical procedure, cleaning the room using prescribed sterile techniques, ensuring the maintenance of a clean and organized environment.
• Checks and maintains appropriate levels of surgical gowns, masks, cleaning supplies, and other for the department.
• Follows channels of communication for effective problem solving.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
• Licenses and Credentials: BLS - Basic Life Support within 2 weeks of hire
• Experience: Medical Office/Hospital/Managed Care Experience 1-2 years required
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Must be self-directed and able to make independent decisions.
  • Willingness to accept new ideas and work under stressful conditions.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of surgical processes and procedures.
